Collectives Hub: 20o Collective

20o collective is an interdisciplinary group of contemporary photography artists and graduates from the University of Brighton. Our ethos is built upon a collaborative framework of making and sharing; we operate under the philosophy of 1+1=3, the belief that our collective output exceeds the sum of our individual parts. At our core is a potent need for community and creative growth, building upon our formal education.

To demonstrate this, we integrate diverse specialisms: Stanislas Sauvage works across photography’s expanded forms, challenging the image’s traditional limits to explore perception; Apolline Grane employs alternative techniques coupled to traditional portraiture to investigate dream-like human experiences; Zoë Montgomery combines analog and sculptural experimentation to examine neurodivergence; and George Eaves utilizes large format photography to uncover historical landscapes.

Our members have an established record of individual and collaborative success, exhibiting at the UOB MA Summer Show, Free Range London, and ‘Obscura’ across the past months. We have professional experience curating and installing complex shows, including Sauvage’s solo exhibition ‘Digital Mob Football’ and the sculptural-photography exhibition ‘Seismic Mother’, curated by Holly Birtles and Charly Blackburn. We position photography as both document and speculation, presenting the future of art as collective making.
