Blow Up – Organic scapes

Tess Zahn

Nature holds a central presence within my work, not as subject to be illustrated but as intimate intuition, I am interested in bringing to the surface what cannot be immediately seen, inviting the invisible to become almost tangible through image. Working with macro photography, I move beyond observation into intimacy. Colour dissolves into light, pattern becomes language, and blur opens a space between recognition and abstraction. By slowing down and looking closely, I seek to reveal what often goes unnoticed: the quiet beauty that exists beneath the surface of everyday experience.
By inviting the viewer to slow down, these photographs offer an opportunity to encounter the overlooked, to question habitual ways of seeing, and to recognise that within the smallest details lie profound reflections on time, existence, and our connection to the natural world.
