Collectives Hub: 20 Degree Collective
20 Degree Collective
This exhibition presents wall hung photographic works exploring how the present exists in a relentless state of simultaneously becoming and archiving itself.
Our works converge on shared questions of what is preserved or forgotten, articulating the theme through a clash of collective and personal standpoints. George Eaves uses large format photography to document ancient landscapes and Stanislas Sauvage utilises digital distortions to examine brutalist structuralism; both investigate how shared environments are shaped by time and economic narratives. Conversely, Apolline Grane employs alternative techniques to archive vanishing familial heritage, and Zoë Montgomery uses experimental processes to expose the generational echoes of neurodivergent inheritance; both investigating how individual identities are reconstructed through memory and biological legacy.
Together, our practices position photography as both document and speculation. By curating a dialogue between these distinct technical lenses, we demonstrate how individual lives, social structures, and physical environments intersect. We invite the audience to recognise they are not bystanders in the flow of history, but active participants writing the history of tomorrow.

20 Degree Collective
20 Degree Collective is an interdisciplinary group of contemporary photography artists and graduates from the University of Brighton. Our ethos is built upon a collaborative framework of making and sharing; we operate under the philosophy of 1+1=3, the belief that our collective output exceeds the sum of our individual parts.
