Our 2020 festival, Take/Make (3-31 October 2020), is a call to action. We invite artists and audiences to take photos and to make a difference. To make art and communicate our place in the world through it. To use photography to make change. To develop new ways of seeing together.
Photo Fringe allows all photographic artists an open platform to exhibit. For this international open call, creatives of all levels of experience are invited to take part.
This year the Photo Fringe exhibition registration fee has been reduced to £20.
Some self-curated exhibitions will go ahead with social distancing measures in Brighton & Hove and surrounding towns, but we know a large part of Photo Fringe 2020 will be accessed online.
All Photo Fringe exhibitors, whether they will be showing in venues or not, can use our customisable templates to create their own digital exhibitions of up to 15 images per solo exhibition. Moving image pieces can be accommodated and larger group shows can be arranged by request. Associated events can be listed free of charge.
All exhibitors will be sent a Photo Fringe 2020 exhibitor pack to support evaluation and marketing.
Claire Wearn, Festival Director says:
Photo Fringe is open to all and everyone’s invited. Audiences have come to expect the unexpected of our festival and we’re known for enabling extraordinary exhibitions in unusual spaces. We’re embracing the challenge of our “new normal” by encouraging artists to experiment with us. Our festival model this year will enable us to welcome more exhibitors than ever and encourage even more people to find new ways of seeing together.
