Newtopias: creative workshops

Share: Facebook / Twitter

Come and get creative with photos, scissors, glue and imagination; picturing hopes and ideas for Newhaven.

Join in one of three Saturday workshops at the Hillcrest Community Centre, led by local artist Kathryn Martin. Using photographic material from the Newhaven Museum archive, personal photographs and found images collaged together, we'll reimagine life in Newhaven and beyond, connecting the past, present and potential futures of the town and its community.

Newtopias is free and open to all Newhaven residents (adults and children over 12 yrs) whether you have lived in Newhaven all your life, or moved here recently. No experience or equipment is needed.

Resulting artworks are scheduled to be exhibited in the town centre in October 2022 as part of the Photo Fringe festival. Newtopias is supported by The Chalk Cliff Trust, Creative Newhaven, Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough Councils.

Free Saturday workshops:
6, 13 or 20 August 2022
11am - 2.30pm
(a light lunch will be provided)
