Body Without Edges

How do we understand edges? This exhibition approaches the edge not as a fixed line but as an unstable space that is always being tested, redrawn, and renegotiated. Rather than treating a boundary as something given in advance, the work asks what a boundary does: how it holds, how it fails, what it lets through, and what it changes on the way. A border, in this sense, is never a simple division between inside and outside. It is a site of exchange, where something on one side is transformed by its passage to the other.

Ola’s work turns toward the human body, where edges let things through. Rather than marking where a body starts or stops, the boundary becomes something that fragments, doubles, and reappears, sometimes sharp, sometimes dissolving into gaps. Working with light and body in the darkroom, all elements are in conversation with one another. The resulting photogram has its own way of seeing, altering both the light and the body as they pass into it, and returning something neither could produce alone. The print itself occupies the space like a body, a long sheet that drapes, folds and gathers on itself.

For Costanza, this edge is first the one between visible and invisible: between what is shown and what produced it, which never closes. That edge is an act of translation, a carrying across that transforms what is carried and what it is carried into. This body is never only one body: the image's own, the viewer's, the architecture's, the social space's. The work exists in the intervals between them, never given at once. Invisibility is not simply what is absent, but the condition that makes visibility possible, so the image is never complete: always emerging, deferred, never fully present, an imagined whole not a given one.

The feedback loop is understood here as a correspondence between multiple elements that affect each other: bodies, materials, spaces they occupy and light that meets them. Boundaries, edges of bodies, and lines that define them, are shows as unstable and constantly negotiated.
