In the run up to the Brighton Photo Fringe OPEN16 Young Photographers deadline we are running two free informal workshops to provide support and advice for entrants before submitting.

We understand that editing and choosing work for photography competitions is difficult sometimes so join us for one of our two free workshops to gain advice on editing your photographs for photography competitions.

The session will be facilitated by photography professionals Lindsey Smith (photographer and facilitator) and Helen Cammock (lens-based artist and facilitator).

Workshops will be held on Wednesday 24th August at 3pm and 4.30pm at Phoenix Brighton. There are 10 places in each workshop, so you just need to register to take part. Please arrive promptly.

All participants should bring up to 10 images. These can be printed or on a USB stick  / SD Card. If you are bringing the images in a digital format the 10 images you would like to discuss must be selected, organised and separated from other media.

Each session will involve;

- working in 2 small groups to look at and discuss your photographs

- A 15 minute overview of ‘how to write a statement’
