Freelance Communications Manager

Start Date: 1 May 2018

End Date: 31 November 2018

Fixed-term, freelance contract. 

£150 per day, approx. one day per week worked flexibly

Part 1. 10 days in May and June 2018 for festival planning

Part 2. 42 days from July to November 2018 for communications management

NB Part 2 is subject to successful funding to be confirmed in July

Brighton Photo Fringe is seeking a highly talented, passionate and dedicated Communications Manager to help deliver BPF18, one of the largest and most inclusive photography festivals in the UK that takes place across Brighton and Hove throughout the month of October 2018.

Working closely with the BPF Festival Manager and Board, and other freelance contractors, trainee curators and volunteers, you will ensure that BPF18 reaches its target audiences and increases its visibility across the city and nationally.

We are looking for an experienced Communications Manager who is highly organized, hard working and energetic, and who will thrive under pressure. You know how to write convincingly; how to harness social media to get your message across and how to work with designers to produce visually attractive and accessible print. You can use a website CMS and under audience development and how to reach out to diverse communities. You will have experience of working in a small team; collaborating with all kinds of people and forging new partnerships. You have an interest in photography and have a proven commitment to delivering very high standards in all your work.  And you will be enthusiastic about Brighton Photo Fringe and our mission to develop new ways of seeing together.
